On October 7th through 14th 2024, what was formerly known as 'Rochester Experimental Week' will be returning as 'Avant Garde a Clue'!
More than 200 out-of-town genre defying acts in addition to many locals, with an opening night headlined by Doom Dogs (a trio featuring Reeves Gabrels of The Cure [currently] / David Bowie's Tin Machine, Jonathan Kane of SWANS / La Monte Young & Forever Bad Blues Band / Rhys Chatham's 100 Guitar Orchestra, and Jair-Rôhm Parker Wells of Machine Gun / Embryo).
Wednesday night is headlined by Gong (the legendary band started in the 60's by Daevid Allen who gave his blessing to continue this iteration of the band before he passed).
Rushadicus Eggleston--the cello goblin, Mystic Grizzly, Mike Baggeta & Peter DiStefano, the Miller brothers (Roger, Ben, Laurence) all playing solo sets, returning percussion master Tatsuya Nakatani, and many many more to be revealed.
At capacity, the festival will be 'one in, one out'. (Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.)
Carpooling is advised for the sake of artists being able to load in. We have a full free parking lot as well as one across the street attached to Hose 22. You could also park at Ontario Beach Park and walk a bit.
The venue is wheelchair accessible and there may be moments of strobing lights during some of the performances. Smoking of any kind is prohibited within the venue.
